Nix’s Shop Policy + Process

A short guide to my studio policies, scheduling, design process, and my guest policy.

Please do not book if:

  • There is a high likelihood that you will need to use your tattoo funds for other necessities/cannot comfortably afford the artwork requested.

  • The permanence of tattoos is not something you are genuinely comfortable with and the thought brings you significant discomfort.

Key Takeaways

  • The deposit is non-refundable

  • You can bring a guest (must be respectful and supportive)

  • All designs are shown day-of (accommodations listed below)

  • Please don’t be late (I hate charging you extra)

  • Avoid losing your deposit by giving adequate notice before rescheduling

  • Please don’t send AI designs

Deposits & Booking

To secure your appointment slot, I require a non-refundable deposit:

  • Tattoos under $400: $50 deposit.

  • Tattoos $400 and above: $100 deposit.

  • Multi-Session Tattoos: $100 deposit/day.

Your deposit goes directly toward reserving dedicated studio time for your project and will count toward the final price of the tattoo.

The Design Process & Seeing Your Artwork

To protect original custom artwork from online theft, all tattoo designs are shown on the day of the appointment.

If waiting until the day of your appointment makes you feel anxious, don't worry! Let me know, and we can either:

  • Early Arrival Option: We can schedule you to arrive 30 minutes to an hour early to review and adjust the artwork together.

  • Pre-Appointment Consultation: We can set up a virtual or in-person consultation beforehand to talk through your ideas, preferences, and concerns in detail.

As a side note: AI is not efficient at creating tattoo designs. It’s not worth the prompt, I promise I can draw out your idea for you :) Please try not to rely on AI prompts for references.

Punctuality & Late Policy

Permanent body modifications should never be rushed, and I need time to prepare for my next client after our session ends.

  • 0-15 Minutes Late: Grace period

  • 15-30 Minutes Late: A $25 late fee is added to your total.

  • 30+ Minutes late: Your appointment will be cancelled, your deposit is forfeited, and a new appointment must be booked.

Please communicate if you know you are running behind or won't be able to make it.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

If you need to reschedule or cancel, please provide at least 48 hours' notice from the day of your appointment.

  • With 48+ Hours' Notice: We can move your deposit to a new date, but please try to notify me before the week of your session, if possible.

  • With Less Than 48 Hours' Notice: Your deposit would be forfeited; there isn't enough time to offer that appointment slot to another client. To get back on track, you would need to submit a new request and deposit.

  • Repeated Reschedules: Rescheduling more than once with less than a week’s notice each time would result in a cancelled appointment. To get back on track, you would need to submit a new request and deposit.

  • No call/No show: If you are unable to make your appointment but do not communicate at all, the non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. I may not accept a request from you in the future.

  • Full-day and Multi-day Sessions: My studio runs by appointment-only, if the tattoo you requested is large, I ask that you provide at least one week’s notice if you cannot be there.

  • If I reach out to confirm your appointment and do not receive a response, your appointment may be cancelled. The more time I reserved for your piece, the more time is needed to fill in those spaces if you will not be there.

I am super flexible if you give me enough time to plan around your absence. If you know you may have a conflict, let me know as soon as possible!
